"I am 47, so I am at the time of life when small things like aches and pains bother one more as well I have become overweight. In the past I have tried traditional western exercises including weights and aerobics. These exercises left me feeling drained with sore joints and muscles and little motivation to continue despite losing some weight. In early October 2011, I enrolled as a Qi Gong student of the Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute under Instructor Dao Shi. Since then, I have been feeling refreshed, more energetic, more flexible, and my memory and concentration have improved, as well I started to lose weight. In addition, painful ailments like arthritis, for instance have completely gone away. Since Qi Gong focuses on building one's internal energy or "Chi", I don't feel drained after each class. Also, since it is a "gentle" exercise my joints and muscles do not feel sore after each class. As an added benefit, since Qi Gong is a form of meditation, it also removes the stresses of the day from daily life.
